Wolff Sunbeds and Sunbooths
The Wolff System Sunbeds operate off the Ultraviolet A ray (UVA). They are commonly referred to as the "tanning ray." The color you receive from the UVA is mostly cosmetic and the degree of color will depend on the amount of melanin one has. Melanins are what enables the UVA to change the pigment of your skin.

The Sunbooths utilize Ultraviolet B ray (UVB). When given in small doses, this ray initialized the tanning process. It stimulates the production of melanins, which are your natural tanning agents. This establishes your base tan, providing both sunburn protection and enabling the UVA to produce more color.

When using the UVA and UVB in combination with one another, the results are a base with sunburn protection and a deeper, more natural looking tan. A good base is the key to responsible tanning, whether it be indoors or outdoors.
